Hi friends! Welcome to my final blog post of the semester! This week I'm going to be sharing some cool music I found from different cultures around the world. I hope you enjoy! The first song I found was from a Native American artist called Snow Raven SUOR. I thought this video was pretty cool because she was making nature sounds with her voice. After looking into her story, I learned that she was born in a small village in Sakha, which is in a region in Russia called the Arctic Siberia. When she was around 3 years old, she began learning how birds and other animals communicated. Just hearing how she was able to mimic the winds and the waves of the ocean just put me in awe of how talented she is. (Modern/Asia) The next music choice I have is pretty personal to me. My mother was born and raised in the Bahamas. Junkanoo is just one giant street festival that takes place on Boxing Dat and New Year’s.
